Food business operators who are involved in small scale food business have to get FSSAI registration. The following are the businesses required to obtain FSSAI registration:

To start your application for FSSAI license registration you need to log in to their website. After that, one of the slides will appear with three options titled ‘What is your character’ – once you visit the website: –

You need to click on the slide, and for that you have to fill in the action of state, address, district and original operation. There will be a pop-up as a hyperlink, such as ‘Check eligibility criteria’ as soon as you save and add information. After that, you need to ‘click’ on the link, which will lead you to a series of ‘yes-no’ and descriptive questions relating to your industry / business.
After that, there will be a selection bar for ‘Proceed’ as soon as you answer all the questions displayed on the screen. Again, click Continue if you are satisfied with the answers filled out above in the yes / NO sessions. Moreover, you will know which licenses you can apply for after completing the pre-examination based on their eligibility criteria.
For your information, there are two types of FSSAI licenses – Central License and State License, for which the eligibility for each of these differs from the other. You need to check which of the two qualifies according to the specified criteria. You first need to fill in the address for each location and then check the eligibility criteria for each given license. Note that the general difference between these two types of FSSAI licenses is based on the turnover of the business. As such, it is recommended for a state FSSAI license if the annual turnover of the product or restaurant you want to register with FSSAI is Rs. 20 C.R.S. However, if the Central FSSAI license is right for you if the said turnover is more than 20 CR.
You will see a tab on the far right of the FSSAI web page saying ‘Apply Apply Online’. You need to click on the option that will take you to the declaration or warranty form. Read the declaration, and if you agree with the guarantee that the above declaration form displays, then click ‘I agree’.
You click on ‘I agree’ and you will be immediately directed to the same series of yes-no questions in the pre-check. You need to answer them correctly and click on ‘Proceed’. After that, three options will come in front of you- Center, State and Registration after you answer the questions. You must click on the appropriate option for your eligibility and business transaction to obtain a license.
After completing the above, the login menu will pop up when you select the type of license you want to apply for. If you do not have any recommendations and testimonials, you must register as a new member. When registering, they need some basic details like name, company, contact details, address, etc. After that, agree to the terms and conditions of FLRS; Enter ‘captcha’ in the space below. After that, you’re good to go!
You need to sign in to the portal and fill up the application form with all the relevant details after receiving your login credentials / testimonials. Please double-check the details you entered before clicking the ‘Submit’ option. In addition, you need to print out the application form for future approaches and references. You need to save the reference number that will come with each application form after signing.
Registration you need to get a print out of the form on “Regional Authority of FSSAI” within fifteen days of submitting the online registration. It will then only be considered in the subsequent process. In addition, you must note that you need to submit some fees, which are different for state and central licenses.
